Day 3

Day two.

I feel I have neglected randomcolors over the last couple of months. Plus I haven’t been illustrating as much as I would’ve hoped for. So I thought I’d start a Monster-A-Day thingy. Which means I’ll try to quickly rough out a tiny monster (hopefully) each day. It’s good practice and a break from mostly coding all day long. This is day one. The plan is to keep this up for at least thirty days. Stick around.

I have been pretty busy lately so I haven’t been doing as much illustration as I would’ve liked to.
Here is a selection of some of the characters I designed over time to keep you entertained until further updates.

The Scubs love to travel. They have been allover the world Egypt, France, Japan, they love skiing and scuba diving (hint, hint). Joyous and fun little creatures they can show you what they have seen in their trips at Trippert.com

The Cool Kid, you all know. He used to have the nicest and trendiest clothes on the block. He also had an uncle in Germany (every kid’s dream in my childhood was an uncle that would send you sweets and toys from somewhere abroad, yet most of the times uncles were just bus drivers) that was sending him the coolest toys ever. Like that silver toy car he used to flash just briefly at you before his mum would call him home. He had the biggest collection of comics, which were all in French and you couldn’t read them, but damn they looked so cool. And by the way, he always dated the best looking girls, too.

The Explorer is a character I designed for a travelling site. The client decided to go with a different type of character, that I will hopefully be able to post soon. The background image is from downtown Bucharest in case you wondered.

You all probably remeber The Bully. He’s that kid always being too loud, face congested, always trying to make you drop that icecream you just bough, or make you pay for his, or drop your pants in front of the girls in your class if you didn’t. He always was bigger than you, sometimes had freckles, was always sweaty and looking for trouble, and you and your friends crossed the street when you saw him in a distance.
This one is a special type of bully: The Pool Bully. You would only meet him by the pools, (or rivers if you, like me, were lucky enough to grow up in a country and time where you could go bathe at the river and not worry about fungi, getting sick, getting sand allover, your hair messy, wading through mud and generally do stuff that could turn your childhood in a dream) splashing, yelling, kicking, screaming, doing basically what he was best at. Bullying (you) around.

These are part project I started a couple of years ago. I am trying to develop these in a series of black and white illustrations that will eventually be printed. Progress is very slow though, and these are the only three that made it up to this moment.
